I've become more hesitant though as it turns out I have too much to play already and lose interest by the time it actually comes out.
From these I have played Broken age act 1 (act 2 still waiting for me) and Elite Dangerous. That's a pretty horrible return tbh :/
I have Wasteland 2 and Dreamfall chapters installed, not sure if any of the rest is actually done yet. Kinda funny to see all those estimated delivery times... Yet I don't mind spending the money on these hard working people who follow their dreams instead of on overpriced coffee drinks.

No.

I've never backed anything and don't plan to.

However, I will buy the game on release when it's available.

Yes i have backed 6 total now (One is a tiny handheld system). If there's a physical copy or collector's edition for the PS4, i back that. Otherwise i try not to back digital downloads, unless that's the only option available.

Mighty No. 9:

$60 / PHYSICAL GAME BOX, PRINTED RETRO-STYLE GAME MANUAL & EXCLUSIVE IN-GAME GOLDEN HERO

Yooka-Laylee:

£15 / CONSOLE DIGITAL EDITION OF YOOKA-LAYLEE!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night:

$100 / ALCHEMIST'S TREASURE

A physical copy of the game for PS4, featuring special backer-exclusive content and slipcase, plus a keychain, lapel pin, soundtrack CD (and digital album), a retro strategy booklet, and your name in the credits!

Arduboy - Card Sized Gaming:

$29 / Early Bird Arduboy

Shenmue 3:

$60 / A PS4 physical copy of Shenmue 3 in an exclusive, backer-only case

The Silent Roads: Desert:

$10 / Basic digital edition. You get the game, special price.

I never have backed a project since I feel that it is not my job to make your game come to life, something which can easily be done by other companies if they think your game is good.

Ah! Some of us live in countries were these companies literally don't exist. The only game studios in Nigeria are all independent, and there isn't a single publisher to be found. I'd be surprised if there's a single staff member of any game company here who is older than 40 years.

You can try sending whatever stuff you have created overseas to gaming publishers which you know may pick it up.

I use whatever amount gets all the game content, and no more.

If there's a soundtrack I'll rip it from the game files. With a hex editor if necessary.

I back them, but only if its something I want and I back with as much as I would be willing to pay for the item if it succeeds and is made

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

No a and I don't think I ever will. Of course if a franchise which holds very much affection for me I might not be able to keep that. I don't like the model of kickstarter.

Consumers shouldn't fund a game if the developers are then going to sell it for additional revenue after. I liked how kung fury gave it away afterwards on YouTube. Now but of course if all is fair those of us who don't back it shouldnt get it either. If you ar going to sell the product after it has been paid to make then you should give a cut back to the backers which is basically your publisher.

The replies so far have given me hope. Hope that many people here will consider it worth their while to back the game in my sig when it's ready for that (I don't plan on crowd funding that yet, but that may change). Unfortunately, the replies here have also let me know that hardly will anyone here back the game I'm currently building. That's because
1. It's a mobile game
2. Hardly anyone here has a love for its genre
Thanks for all the feedback though. At least I know not to be unrealistically optimistic about this. Either way, even if you won't back it, maybe you can help me vet my campaign before the campaign goes live on Saturday. Here's the thread for that http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=207093&page=1

P.S: I seriously doubt I'd ever back a mobile game myself, unless it blows my mind, which a mobile has never done.

Yeah, i wouldn't back a mobile game. The only ones i play on my phone anymore are the free ones, and i rarely even play those. Hell, i won't even back a game if it's just a PC game, since i don't play games on my PC.
