Super Metroid by a LANDSLIDE victory, it was the last Metroid that just coined the feel that game had going for it. It was easily the best in terms of tools and exploration, the soundtrack was creepy and somehow instilled that sense of panic in certain areas. The story was non-existent sure, but when I think about Nintendo games and just they're simple fascinating aspects, Super Metroid definitely ranks amongst the best on the SNES. My 5th favorite game on that console in fact :P
