That's because there's not much else to play on the system. For me, the game got dull after about a week. Having only 2-3 maps in rotation at a time, along with the lack of voice chat, really damages the fun factor. In its current form, I can only play Splatoon for about 20 minutes before getting bored, which is what I think Nintendo had intended anyway. It's a good game, just not $60 good.

You are in the minority, everyone else thinks is super fun and almost no one complains about the voice chat once they have it.

I play tons of games on my PC and I am still playing Splatoon everyday not because I don´t have anything else, that´s stupid. If something is boring you don´t play at all, people plays it because is fun regardless anything else.

Around the Network

I finally jumped in. $70 over here (Canada). At least it turned out you can use the classic controller for local multiplayer and don't need to buy a pro controller. It look like a lot fun but I haven't been able to play yet. My kids won't give up the controller, apart from where they got stuck in the tutorial level.
No voice chat sounds good to me, no more telling them to mute the noise while playing PvZ GW.

NSMBU, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Smash Bros...do you realise that Splatoon just 2 months after release for many Wii U owner become most played Wii U game!? More played than Mario Kart that was released one year earlier or Smash Bros. 6 months earlier!? So saying "That's because there's not much else to play on the system" does not make sense.

About your experiance with Splatoon, you are in vast minoroty.
