No, we didn't lost interest. It's just that newer things came and they forget about the thread.

About troll levels, the last part of that level was kind of a troll. But honestly, besides the first two videos, the rest were more about skills and less about trolling, and they were better levels. The Metroid one was cool. Easy, but cool.

What I don't get is how some of those editors could complete their own levels given how bad they were playing the levels of the others.

The most troubling part is that some of them think they are really good Mario players.

who? Brian Altano? the one who couldn't fly properly on that mario world level? :)

there was one IGN editor or don't know his position but he is really bad at mario.  maybe 2nd to the lat or 3rd to the last video.

It's scary to think how they play games that they say they are bad at. Yikes!

Yep. Brian Altano graced us. Not with skill, but epic fails. I bet he's a bit ashamed. The comment section in IGN is ruthless. I used to troll there. Good times ^.^

Love to read comments on IGN too.  especially those 'too much water' and good thing is, IGN is really reading those comments, and somewhat know about the situation they have in hand.  they always say 'it is their opinion', etc... but i also love the fact that Brian Altano had that baby level where he deliberately put all the blocks so that mario won't fall on his stage.  which i know how the games are now played compared in 90s.

OT: I really wait the MWFs for the IGN videos.  I think the aug 31st was the last one as Jose mentioned IGN would have the full review of Super Mario Maker on the 2nd of September.

Just updating the tread to let you guys know that the challenge seems to keep going for a little bit more. This time, IGN's General Mananger and co-founder (!) Peer Schneider decided to enter the challenge and forced Jose Otero to play his level. The level itself actually looks like a traditional Mario level. Might be the best designed one. Watch it here.

Also, for those of you that might want to see more game journalists get trolled in SMM, Game Informer uploaded a video where three editors try to takle a few of the harder levels in a game mode in which they have to go trough a set number of levels with a limited number of lives. The result is hilarious. Heres the link.

Peer really did a great job on his created level.  It seems he has been thinking on what to create for his level.  Watched it few days back and good response via IGN comments.  i hope I could download those IGN levels and see how it goes. :)

Too bad you can't. Nintendo is deleting all levels when the game comes out. By the way, Jose's response level to Peer is out.

But hopefully IGN has all their local levels and re-upload it. With regard to Otero's new level, I saw this level somewhat before and it still a mix of trolling and good design.

Thanks for the new videos, FunFan.

Otero is really bad playing Mario, and his levels are kind of meh. Meanwhile, Peer is a much better player, and his level was good too! He even designed a secondary way to get out of that hole if you miss the jumper.

I mean, Nintendo can predict that many Gamepads will be broken due to this game, and selling new Gamepads they would certainly get a ton of money
