Forums - Gaming - PS4 still has the best features of current gen consoles

Please, PSN is still talking about adding folder updates in the future, while xbl is right now about to get Cortana making gaming a lot easier. No more going through a bunch of menus to get something you want or pausing a game. Just say "Cortana invite joe to my party".

None of this has anythint to do with the thread. None of this is close to how awesome share play is.  Since when do you need to go through a bunch of mensu to pause a game on PS4??? WTF, stop posting nonsense.

Some games on xbox one also allow you to play as it downloads. That is up to the game though.
I love snapping an app. Ps4 doesn't have it.
External hard drive support. Ps4 does not.
I love how achievements show you exactly where you are with a progression bar. Ps4 does not.
I like how faster downloads are on xbox. Ps3 and ps4 are slowly. Tested this myself and xbox was always faster.
I love the media features. Something ps4 just got but xbox had it longer.
The support it gets and the feedback page. Again something so my just did. Playing the catch up game.
Dual WiFi antennas is a plus. Ps4 does not.
WiFi direct in controller. Again ps4 does not.
Xbox live better than psn IMO. (Remembering that hack)
Xbox live alsos you to customize profile and have a wall with posts and comments. Dunno how it is on ps4 since I sold mine months ago.
There are several more reasons why I prefer xbox but don't remember them now.

Good for you but 25 million people show most dont care about those features. PS4 does many things better then x1 like shareplay, Playgo, Fast OS, better party system (X1's is a mess).

He didn't say you had to go through a bunch of menus to pause a game. He said you can (after the update--and with Kinect) do certain things on Xbox One without any menus OR pausing the game.

I don't know how many Kinects are out there these days, though.  I have one and I swear by it but every my best friend (at work and on Xbox) said he disconnected his a year ago.

You can on PS4 too...PS4 has voice....Hardly a big feature compared to Shareplay.

I have both consoles, but I rarely use either one for anything outside of gaming or netflix. The share play has never been used, the remote play was only ever used when I needed an extra controller and only had two PS4 controllers. I don't know what else the PS4 has, but I have noticed that it's pretty much perfect for just simple gaming. Oh, and Cross-Buy.

I don't have any idea how to use my Xbox, since I mainly just got it for Rare Replay and Backwards Compatibility (which I now know isn't really all that helpful). I play titanfall and...that's basically it at this point.

People don't buy systems for features, they buy systems for games. They buy the systems that have the games they want, then they discover the features later. Well, except PS3's Blu Ray capabilities. If people generally cared, then Xbox would have been the best selling system when it had well integrated online play and a hard drive for game saves back when no other console did that.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

It does indeed have voice.  With Kinect, it's not quite the same.  It's like comparing Wii Motion Controls to SIXAXIS motion controls.  Technically they're the same.  Both are motion controls but, in practice, very very different.

I won't say which is better if worse.  To be honest, both PS4 and Xbox One have features I have never even attempted to use (Share Play is one of them) but I know people out there  appreciate them.  Hopefully I get off of my ass tomorrow and actually make a comparison thread for all of the consoles.

I totally agree with you on this one. Like you read my mind.  People this gen certainly appreciate certain perks this time around that didn't matter last time and if the site were on the other foot ( let's say M$ and Sony totally switched the names on their consoles and their exclusive titles) the same people that bash one would suddenly overlook the flaws.

In the end, it is what it's always been: "which one has (or WILL have) the games that I want to play?"

you mean the Kinect?

Sort of, you will need a Kinect. But these kind of things make gaming so much easier. Can't tell you how annoying it is trying to start a party in mid game.

You have your kinect why needing another one?

Yeah, let's go point by point:

  1. The PS4 installations go from faster to much faster.
  2. The PS4 has instanst switching between the last application and the game
  3. The PS4 can switch the internal HDD. Samsung just relevealed a 15-16TB SSD and the PS4 should be able to use it. :p
  4. What? The trophies on PS4 are even more detailed. And there is a progression bar for the level.
  5. Many people report full download speeds on PS4. For some it isn't the case. Sony is looking into it.
  6. The PS4 has more media features now. Spotify included.
  7. The PSN has had a feedback page with requests from users for ages now. It goes back to PS3 times. And various have been implemented.
  8. WiFi? Who the heck lag minded wold connect via WiFi?
  9. The DS4 connects via bluetooth. The Xbone does not. What's your point?
  10. Both XBL and PSN keep going down a couple of times per month. But PS+ IGC >>> XBL GwG
  11. Then if you don't know don't mention it. The PS4 is going fully social, and there are already far too many social features that I couldn't are less about.
You forgot the most important features, though:
The PS4 has many more games and plays the multi-platform games the best (on console). Also allowing to share them online with Share Play. Or on the go with Remote Play on PS Vita and Xperia phones. Any Android phone apparently, downloading the hacked app.
