Ok. I'll break it down. I won't say anything against MS. I could make a post of MS wrong-doings. But, hey, I bought a 360 also because it was worth it for some of the games.

I'll agree, there was some, and a lot of stupidity in some of Ken Kutaragi's statements.

Blu-ray having absolutely nothing to do with gaming. I strongly disagree. My favorite Developers - Kojima and Sq. Enix definitely are using the Blu-ray to their advantage. I'm really glad they are using the space and honestly, I trust their sense as a developer more than some gamer's will try to say that know more. Someone has had to take the initiative to take floppy discs / cartridges to CDs. Someone had to take CDs to DVDs. And now, we will be needing a bigger storage media.

Thats a fair call if you believe it.  The problem is there isn't one multiplatform game that is known to have been limited by DVD.  This generation has also seen the rise of downloadable content (led by MS) which has largely negated the need for extra physical media.

I agree with the rest of what Dodece said.  Sony said a lot of crap they shouldn't have.  So did MS, like that guy that said they'd sell 90 million consoles. 

I dont see sony changing attitude with PS4.

1 .Each generation they release something that is cutting edge, so my guess is that PS4 will be atleast 10x more powerful with new processors and technology with real life gfx capabilities, introducing a new format or no format at all, having all the technologies available at the time build in. So it will be expensive.

2 .It will be marketed as the ultimate media center. Used for games, internet, movies and stuff that yet are not known to us.

3 .They will not rush it, it will the last to be released. (november 2013 is my guess)

ps. and finally i cant understand why are people complaining with ps3. Sony did exactly what they wanted. made a superb system. technology costs money, so it was normal to cost that much. Its like having a low-end pc and a high-end pc and people complaining about their difference in price. What you pay is what you get. lol

I dont think they have been arrogant. They just have shown somewhat questionable business ethics and its that I dislike.

In case any one from Sony ever reads these boards could they take the following to heart.

1. I don't watch many movies.
2. The PS3 goes in the games room which is the last place we would ever choose to watch a movie.
3. The PS3 is never going to go in the main living room so stop preaching this "Entertainment Hub" rubbish at me.

I'm a gamer I play games. I enjoy them and am proud.
I dont like being told that I also adore movies and should put all my consoles in the front room so my family can watch Hi Def movies.

I own no Blu Ray movies and never will. I dont like being used to win a war I never gave a toss about in the first place.

Oh and just for the record 425 GBP is far too much for a console to launch at, ten year life cycle or not

Dodece writes quite good ,but theres some intense hate in him towards Sony thats undeniable .

And I agree with the Blu Ray .Some people may think DVD is more than enough ,but multi DVD titles as Lost Oddysey are already out and some developers as Ubi with Far Cry 2 and Rockstar with GTAIV have already said they are hitting the upper limit of the format .Blu Ray is a definite plus and some developers ,the ones that create great content ,are already taking profit from hit .Final Fantasy XIII ,Final Fantasy XIII Versus ,Metal Gear Solid 4 and White Knight Story will be truly massive and superior to any DVD offering .

With GTAIV and Assassin's Creed they were also hitting limits with regard to the PS3's RAM, and Ubisoft has stated that the 360 can run AI more efficiently.  I'd say those two factors will be far more limiting long-term than storage issues that can be fixed with multiple disks and DLC.

I love to play the devils advocate. More specifically sometimes the only way to properly convey a meaning is to it is the most toxic way imaginable. Notice how everyone stopped to take notice. Like the most rational man in the room went insane unexpectedly. Everyone succumbed to shock and awe.

Anyway Sony doesn't have a attitude problem that needs an obvious correction. The attitude isn't costing them anything. Hell it might be doing them a world of good, and as long as consumers tolerate it. Well it cannot be much of a problem if ten million consumer can look beyond it. They will only correct an attitude if it costs them more then it gains them, and right now that doesn't seem very likely does it?

Exactly what has Sony's ''arrogance'' cost them?
It has cost them the fall from first place into third in current-generation console positioning. Sure, the system's sales have improved a lot compared to last year (and should continue to improve) but they still have to outsell their competitors by the millions to attempt to regain the market share they once held.

Nintendo once dominated the videogame market, but their refusal to give up on cartridges cost them dearly. They have turned things dramatically this time around, but they had to spend a long time in the cellar beforehand.

I think it would be a bit premature to declare this generation's ''winner''. It would be very easy to predict things if current trends continued just as they are now. But with price drops, high-profile games and some tricks up their sleeves, things should get quite interesting in 2008.
