Forums - Sony - PS NOW: Endless Streaming is now #6 most popular idea of all time! Over 5000 votes!

That would be neat but as others have said I don't think it makes sense for Sony.

I think I have a solution that would work better though.

So, the price of PS+ is probably going to go up for everyone eventually. That's just the way it is. My idea, is bump the price to $59.99 a year and then allow anyone with PS+ to play any games they own on PS Now on their PS3/4. Pretty much just do it the way they do it on the Xbox One, just pop in the disc so that it can identify the game or allow it to see what games you have in your library (if it's a digital game).

"So, just like the bc on the Xbox One right?" Not quite, because I think that when Sony starts adding PS1 and PS2 games to PS Now, they should offer the same thing for those games. Personally, I'm not really interested in playing my PS3 games on my PS4. But if someone gave me the option to play Battlefront 2, or Crash on my PS4? Yup, I'm going to do that.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

To all you people saying it wont happen because of maintenance cost, how the flicking luck are MS able to use the servers on Crackdown 3 to make the Xbox 20 times more powerful, when the only money they get is the rest from the 60 bucks from people purchasing the game?

And maybe if Sony made PS+ mandatory for accessing the games we've bought, that, combined with the price of the game (30-40$) would be enough to cover up maintenance costs.

uuuuuhhhhh.............I know you're being serious....but I just don't know if I can accept it.

Literally, "The Cloud" is a collection of servers. I am actually very excited to hear you explain how they are different.

I would also like to buy the internet from my isp, but they only want to offer me monthly subscriptions.

Why though?.. If you have the internet to support endless streaming, why not just outright purchase and download the game instead? Unless the games cost like $100, this idea would be too costly for Sony. They'd have to spend money on keeping servers constantly while pay their one time fee, and basically stream for free.

With Cloud computing, people won't be constantly streaming every single aspect of the game. This idea would take up a shit ton more bandwdth.

They're used in a different way than the PS Now servers, but they're still just all big server banks. In fact, the way MS is using Azure in Crackdown isn't all that dissimilar to how PSNow works, the main difference is it take a lot less resources to run bits and pieces of a game on the servers than it doess an entire game. But, if Sony plans on PS Now being a huge service and PS Vue being a real competitor to cable (I think Vue uses the Now servers aswell...though I'll have to double check) then I think it's safe to say they plan on having a robust enough server bank to handle people using their own games on it.
