I'd be fine with 6-7 hours of quality gameplay. I think most reviewers would be too. Sounds like there is plenty of replay value.

I like the idea of a tie-in TV show, but not sure about intercutting live action scenes within the game. It also seems they are severely limiting the audience for the TV show to only those people who play the game. Or will the live action sequences in-game be both less than and more than the episodes you can watch separate to the game? Less than as in not the full episode; more than as in more than one version of a scene depending on your choices.

It will be an interesting mixed media experiment to watch, from the sidelines in my case.

Wasn't there an interview the other day where they were saying some of the clips were approx 20mins in length at a time?

Wonder what reviewers will think of it cutting up the gameplay.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

So...there aren't a lot of things that I hear about that I genuinely hate, but this is one of them.

Why, on EARTH, would I want live action cut scenes? One of my big hopes for this gen has been that we see most games have perfect parity between cutscenes and gameplay. So to see them make the decision to make the gap wider than ever is frankly awful.

Also, more than TWO HOURS of live action content?...Didn't we spend like 6 months arguing to finally come to the decision that long streches without gameplay are the worst thing ever? I think somebody owes The Order 1886 an apology.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Let me free your mind of worries. Live action is totally skippable. No need to get anxious about game reviews this early.

They said you can watch it after game playthrough or avoid it all together.

I think before asking for apologies we should know more about this game.

Like I said, so far you can skip the live action scenes; however they are interwoven with the gameplay and essential to gamers' immersion.

I am glad that this game is XOne exclusive.
It will light the flames of love towards cinematic games in XOne fans, so they are no longer jealous of Sony. I just remember how.they yearned for more cinematic games, it will not get any more cinematic than this - a live action cinema!

Please stay on topic because this thread will get derailed fast if we bring non related subjects up.

I dont *Ever* skip the story elements of a game, because if you do whats the point in playing it.
