So is anyone on this forum going to Rock Am Ring this year?

nope, but i heard so much great news about it, i do want to go however but i'm not allowed yet =(

I don't know what I want to do Festival-Wise, Rock Am Ring has my attention purely for Rage Against the Machine alone.

I wanted to make Download Festival at Donington an annual thing since I started going in 2006, that and 2007 were amazing, but this year's lineup is atrocious in comparison. I want to go but the lineup has to get much better very quickly! About half of the lineup have been announced so far and still I'm yet to be one bit excited about any of it.

Rock Am Ring could be awesome for me, as it kinda has the best bits of both the Download Festival (previous years anyway) and previous Leeds / Reading festivals too (well the heavier acts who have played or are playing there this year). The only drawback is travel, getting to Germany, getting a ticket, and finding anyone else willing to go (I went to Download on my own in 2006 which was fine, don't think I could do it abroad though) in the space of now until June!

Well I'm going with a couple of friends of mine. I live in Holland so anyone that want's to rid with us just comment or PM me. More = less train costs:D

@MrMarc I can understand that travel is a problem and not fun without a friend. Again let's hope next year will be as good as this one! It's the best festival this year IMO.

To anyone that wants to go. You have to get a ticket REAL FAST, there are only 3000 tickets left. Meaning it will be sold out somewhere next week.

Slash, the travel without a friend wouldn't usually be a problem! :) I'm a very sociable person and easy to get on with just about anyone and everyone heh. The problem though with such a festival being in Germany, I have real doubts about how difficult the language barrier could make things you know! :(

Yeah, the germans are proud of their language and usualy don't speak English very well. Good thing alot of people from Holland are coming, the majority can speak English well. Also it tends to civilise the germans a bit ;)
