Forums - Gaming - Last Guardian e3 2015 from ps3 engine, PS4 engine to be used for final product

http://gearnuke.com/last-guardian-e3-2015-demo-completed-ps3-2010-new-engine-created-ps4/

The article states they ported over a completed portion of the game from the PS3 ver for the demo, however they built a new engine for the PS4. Do you think this will have an effect on over all GFX or do you think its just a stability thing? IMO this is bad news for the release window if they are saying the're gonna rebuild the game in this new engine and were only able to show old stuff at E3. Discuss

This is a 2017 release for sure.

Good god, at this rate they will release this game for PS5

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I think they were building the engine even way before E3

Edit: They said they started to porting the game to PS4 in 2012 or 2013 that means they should have build the engine as of now and the only they need to do to build the game on this engine.

I agree however my concern comes from them showing the "ps3" ver if the game is supposedly only a year out. I will gladly wait for this game if they need the time to perfect it in the new engine but I'm not sure the rest of the gaming community will.

The way I understand this article, Ueda said that the demo was finished for PS3 and later ported to the PS4 game engine.

From the article I don't get the impression that Ueda is saying that the PS3 to PS4 engine porting is something they are doing now in these months before release after most work has been done in PS3.

It must be that they have been working in the PS4 engine for a while, have ported whatever needed to be ported, and that Ueda wanted to drop the little fact that this demo was completed long ago and was straight up ported to PS4 engine.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

This has to have started months ago theirs no way they can delay the game again.

The graphics might get a small bump nothing major i'd say Sonys despite to finally ship the game after what? 8-9 years.

So do you think that means he's saying it will look alot better? I know alot of people were vocal about how this game looked like a PS3 game? Guess they were spot on.

They have been porting it for years. They had a complete PS3 demo, but instead of wasting more development time they ported the demo to PS4 to have something to show at E3.

If they show nothing at E3 next year then I'll worry.. which kind of seems likely :(
