What, you're also not convinced by a website that has to look back to 1921 to persuade us that everyone is an equal offender?!

It's funny that the New England Patriots are ranked 22nd on the list of the currently existing 32 teams.

But jokes aside, why complain so much about cheating in a league that punishes the usage of performance-enhancing drugs with a ban of only four games?

Fake answer: because Brady is 100% innocent.

Real answer: whining, and a strange love for feeling like the victim. The NFL Network has been broadcasting preseason games using the local tv stations, which provide their own (team-employed) announcers. The Patriots' and Redskins' in particular had some fantastically skewed perspectives on things.

In my humble opinion, of course.

I really wish that instead of making that website, whoever was responsible for it had taken that time and dedicated it towards explaining misconceptions behind Spygate or something. Much of what's on there is just misused information, like claiming Aaron Rodgers messed with the PSI in his footballs because he said he prefers footballs to be on the high end of the spectrum or that Pittsburgh cheated because they used steroids when they were legal.

I personally think Brady's probably guilty, but in the words of Joe Thomas, it's an offense equivalent to driving 66 in a 65. It's an issue that's complained so much about partially due to the stigma of Spygate, partially due to the Patriots being a good team, and partially due to some...questionable reporting...particularly from ESPN.

While I agree, the website isn't trying to be anywhere near that kind of place. The fact that the offenses are measured in cameras pretty much says all we really need to know.

I realize that's its intent, I'm just wishing the intent had been...different.

The point of yourteamcheats.com was indeed to show that there has been and still is a TON of cheating in the NFL. The Patriots are year after year the best team or 2nd best team in the AFC, making it to the AFC championship 4 straight years now, so they are the level that every other NFL team is striving for. Every "cheating scandal" that they get wrapped up in gets overblown and the other teams do the exact same things and get overlooked. The Jets in 2006 had a cameraman kicked out of the stadium because they were filming from an illegal location the Patriots signals, the Broncos have also had this happen. Does anyone KNOW about them? No, because they are not the Patriots. Spygate was completely overblown, it was a filming from an illegal LOCATION, they did nothing else wrong, they didn't get any benefit from it, but teams need excuses. And now the Pats are labeled as cheaters because the national news picks and chooses what it wants to cover, and the Patriots are a target. Even deflategate looks like it is not only completely overblown, but may have never even happened. It is possible that Jastremski and McNally did it, but Brady certainly was not in on it. I have been following the court case very closely, read the reports and the transcripts, and there is literally NOTHING tying Brady to any of it. But now there is a stigma, Brady's on the Pats, clearly he cheats, right? To me that is a no, but to the rest of America, who wants the Patriots to burn to the ground in a flaming effigy, that is a yes.

Disclaimer to anyone who hasn't figured it out yet - I am a Patriots fan, I live in NH, but I'm an educated fan, and the stuff they are labeled cheaters for and liars for has a lot behind it, and is in almost every case completely ridiculous.

Just so you know, we VGC people don't like the Patriots. Consequently, we don't like Patriots fans either. Or people from New Hampshire (or whatever else NH could stand for). Speaking more generally though, we don't like any US-Americans. A nation that kills its own people cannot be respected; 9/11 was an inside job.

Can confirm, Bill Belichick was responsible.

On another note, watching the Patriots-Panthers preseason game. New England's receivers and OL are looking absolutely terrible through two drives so far.

And Brady's now joined the awful club with one kind of excusable interception and one absolutely horrible interception. Defense is sort of looking all right, for what it's worth.

Wow, preseason football. The only thing worth caring about during those games are injuries.

But congratulations on your defense. I mean, you are playing against a team without a passing game, but that's still an accomplishment. I am suuuuure of it.

The overall game results certainly aren't important, but it's nice to get a feel for how the offense and defense are working after 5 months away.

I hear Tim Tebow's looking for work, if Washington's got an opening.

Fitzmagic will get there first. Playing the odds like that: Harvard grads really are geniuses...

Rol can you take me off the list? I don't think I'll be able to do the prediction league this year.
