So this is ridiculous.

If Oakland doesn't collapse, the AFC will have three undefeated teams (at the very least until the end of SNF, and, if Denver can knock off Green Bay, until next week). The fourth best team will have three losses.

The level of disparity between the top of the league and the next level is becoming absurd. We're at the point where I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "marquee win" in this league unless you take down one of those five unbeatens.

Well, the amount of franchise QB's, and great coaches in the league could be counted on one hand, really.  That's kind of the problem.  No amount of salary capping, or free agency is going to alter that fact.  And given what we've heard regarding QB readiness out of College, it's an issue that's not going to get better anytime soon.

I agree, but at the same time, that issue has existed for years (certainly since the league shifted over to being "passer friendly"). Things have never been as bad as this, though. There's always been some good teams that have managed to get by without an elite quarterback or coach, either by having a strong running game (Chargers of the mid 2000s), a good defense (Ravens of the early 2010s), or both (Seahawks of the past few years). All of a sudden, those teams have just disappeared.

There are no more merely good teams, with the exception of the Cardinals. You're either unbeaten, or you're merely mediocre.

Well, I don't know how true this is, but I remember reading this article back in September:

http://www.wsj.com/articles/why-the-nfl-has-a-quarterback-crisis-1441819454

It'd explain how much development time QB's take outta college these days, but I'd need anyone who watches CFB to read it and confirm.  The problem is, if you're a backup who's needed to play in-season, you're going to get pounded while you learn, which can shatter a player both mentally and physically.

Yeah, Dallas isn't going to beat anyone until Romo is back. So pathetic.

Ah, they did pretty good limiting Seattle to 13.

The refs completely boned Dallas earlier though. Seahawks had 12 men on the field, and the refs actually stopped the play only to NOT penalize Seattle for it, which was the completely obvious correct call. The result of that would have been Dallas 1st down VERY close to the goal line. Instead, they got held to a field goal there, and as we can see, that might well have been the difference in the end (though nobody could know for sure).

One of the worst calls of the year, and that's saying something. There is ZERO interpretative alternative to the play. It was simply a penalty for the extra man that inexplicably didn't get made.

Yeah I agree, but even then if we had Romo Dallas would be like 6-1 or 7-0. I see other teams that are good who can win with nobody QBs at backup but not Dallas. They couldn't even beat the Browns if they had to. On to Tampa Bay I think, looking forward to watching another losing game.

Broncos 17, Refs 7

I don't mind if they're going to call some ticky tack bullshit like that graze of Rodgers helmet, but it better go both ways.

Well, I can now add "Denver" to the list of fans I've seen this week complain that the refs are screwing their team over, along with the Dolphins, Cowboys, Steelers, Falcons, Raiders, and Jets. And yes, the last two were playing each other in the same game.

So you're telling me the refs have been garbage in multiple games this week. Darn.

Pretty much, they've been pretty bad the whole season. Probably cost a few teams wins as well.

Still plenty of time left. The only downside to Denvers aggressive pass rush is there are a lot of coverage penalties.
