^Ok then, though that could be why Soriku wrote IMO in his OP, to try and stop people saying "that's just your opinion"... and regarding PR people: they probably do.

Which is why I hate. People get away with the most ridiculous comments with "IMO". I've seen people in debate using that to justify racisim and even holocaust.

Frankly, I can name at least 20 universally agreeable games with better graphics with WW.

1. "Univerally agreeable" would mean people universally agree. Since the starter of this thread clearly doesn't, that is demonstrably false.

2. Opinion is what opinion is. Of course people used it to justify racism and the holocaust. Do you think Hitler stood around saying "Boy, is this a shitty thing to do or what?"

3. The problem here is that the title says "best looking", which is different from best graphics (one being more a measure of horsepower, and the other artisic design), but since there is no qualitative or quatitative way to measure "best looking game" it will remain just an opinion. The most you can do is say "most people THINK this is the best looking game", and there are just too many games over too many years with too many players with too many different opinions for that argument to be used.

I think this game is good, but to me it isn't the best looking game.

@cheebee

do u seriously think Mario 64 was the first 3-d game

and i am talking about copying an artistic design
3-d isn't really an artistic design

Or maybe people in their early 30s who have lived their entire life studying art and live in the design world still think Wind Waker is derivative and weak.

...

It is quite possible that the art design behind the game is just plain bad.

What, you think you're the only person in this world who grew up in an artistic environment? My father is a comic book author, and since my very early days, i've known a ton of animated movies, comic books, paintings, etc, etc...

While some "designers" are imho the perfect examples of bad taste and elitist bullshit: live in this world is not a proof of a so-called universal good taste or perfect judgement, it means absolutely nothing, sorry...

As i've said, it's just a matter of taste, you have yours, i have mine... but stating the WW art (or any art form in fact) is just plain "bad" is pointless and meaningless, it's just your very subjective opinion, nothing less, nothing more...

You're the one who brought age into this argument as a validation for liking Wind Waker's art style, not me. I didn't state my opinion as fact and merely pointed out that there are also older people who think the art style sucked.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

i played ww this year, hoping for some awesome cell shade. i was very underwhelmed. it didnt even compare to sly (amazing cell shade btw) which is older.

i thought the ww cell shade was good, but a bit conservative. all of my friends who played it agree. it felt like the backlash on the first showing caused them to tame it down a bit, losing the great effect that can be had with fully stylistic cell shade.

and btw, okami is the best looking game ever.

Of course not, don't be silly. But it was the first true 3D game done right, which every subsequent 3D game was made after. Making it probably the single most influential game ever. Ever.

Fixed. Super Mario 64 was not the first great 3D game. It was the first great 3D platformer. And it was hardly the most influential game of all time.

Back on topic, I really liked the graphics in Wind Waker.  I don't think it's the best looking game ever, or even in my personal top 10 list, but they were really good.  I never knew why the game got so much flak for it's cel-shading.

winder waker was pretty good, but not the best

Soriku you are too young to do drugs. The best looking game ever is Legend of Legaia for Psx.
