I haven't, but that's because I haven't been following very closely MGS 4 news.

Compared to most of the people here I'm relatively new to gaming. I played my brother's original xbox back in the day, then last September I bought a 360 shortly after the Halo 3 release. That being the case I've never played an MGS game.

I've thought many times about picking up a PS3, especially after the Blu-Ray victory, but right now I'm a poor college student and can't afford it. Maybe I'll get one this summer when the AAA's start hitting and I have a full time job...

Play MGS3 first, since its a prequel, I'm sure you won't regret it. ^_^
It's really heavy on the story side, but it is really good.

 MGS3 was the game I started with.  It had the best ending ever. :'(

I agree about Resistence.
But it still fun, in short dose. lol.

Gears > Resistance for me.
I don't even finished Resistance.
Gears, Bioshock, Half-Life 2, CoD4 you just can't stop them till the end.
Resistance single is like Halo 3 single - not bad, but not great too. Halo 3 multi is a diffrent story.

40 player online was cool, but I had a problem with how they took the pacing of the single-player and then made everything twice as fast. For a PC guy, Resistance online was a little rough at times with a controller.

 I don't, but I've also thought about getting one of those because a) they're dirt cheap now, and b) There's a whole backlog of PS2 games that I never got to play like most of the Final Fantasies, obviously those MGS's, SotC,...
