So this is one of the many perks of the big update but I'm a little confused. How will this work, will you need 8 TVs as well or will the screen be split?

"In Private Battle, two to eight friends will be able to battle together in customizable matches. Nintendo’s page also says that it “allows players to hold small-scale custom tournaments using up to 8 Wii U consoles and games on a single Internet connection."

Any thoughts on this? :D

It says nothing about split screens, just that you do not need to have 8 players per match..

you can have 6 players for a 3v3 battle or even 3v4 (7 players)

This means that you still need to have separate Wii Us and TV screens

Where did you read that? It says nothing about that.

It's LAN (through internet), so you'll need as many Wii Us as you need players (up to 8).
