Where is the option "I don't want golden sun anymore, let camelot work on other stuff" ?

I never really liked Golden Sun games, and I never understood the hype of them. It's really basic JRPG, except for the music which is awesome thanks to Sakuraba.

I choose not to include it because i put monolith studio working on it, so you could choose that if you didnt want camelot to work on it. ALso IMO its better than the final fantasy franchise, but they are different games

Golden Sun 1, considered the best one, is still fairly run of the mill. Moreover the series simply couldn't garner a fanbase at any point. So while I'd like to see them try their hand at a fourth game, the better bet is to let Camelot try something new that has a chance at doing well. Pulling and Awakening and casualizing the game won't work because it was already incredibly accessible.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I'd like to see a Golden Sun for the 3DS

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Didn't it took Camelot like seven years to get the last one out? Maybe they are taking their time. So 2017, for NX portable and console. Hopefully.

Compared to the console RPGs of the time, maybe. Still way better than any FF after X. A million times better than FFXIII. Also, that first Golden Sun game broke the million mark in sales WW, It must have a fanbase hiding somewhere.

I don't see why you're trying to compare to modern FF, for one. Different styles completely. Compared to pretty much anything in the genre it's sort of just there.

As for sales, the second and third games didn't do nearly as well. The second piggybacked off of the first game and STILL didn't do very well. A steady decline doesn't inspire hope for the fourth game doing well, especially when generally the series is thought to have declined in quality too.

I like the first game, it's fun. The story's interesting enough, and the gameplay is alright. But it's nothing special compared to the genre as a whole. It's the Legend of Dragoon of top down SNES style JRPGs. (And I really enjoyed LoD for the record).

No, they should make a new shining force...

This, please.

I concur another Shining Force game or a game of similar vein with a different name which is all the rage these days would be acceptable.

Yes, they should. I think people are sick of mario sports games and their talent has been wasted on them for far too long.
Also, get SEGA to aprove a Shining Force 4.

I feel like people saying "they should" either haven't played Dark Dawn, or forgot how crap it was. Golden Sun 1 and 2 were decent games. They made up one full story, were fun, and the djinn and psynergy systems were interesting to play around with. Then came Dark Dawn, a sequel many people wanted, but not the one anybody actually asked for. It just wasn't a very good game. I wish it was, but it wasn't. Not to mention they pulled the bs cliffhanger at the end.

It would take a lot to redeem the DS title, and I just don't think Camelot is interested in trying.

I'd like to see a follow-up to Dark Dawn. The first two games were some of my favorite RPGs ever, and while the 3rd wasn't quite on the same level, it was definitely a solid game overall. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth to end the franchise on a cliffhanger like that...honestly I'm surprised they did that without having a plan for the follow-up.

I just hope they show more of the original team this time. I'm happy my ship happened, but I wish they at least showed them together. X_X
