Was a hardcore Nintendo fan for a long time, until the N64. I even went out and got a job as a kid to pay for my own SNES when my family bought a Genesis. Never bought a GC, bought a DS on a "spur of the moment" (and haven't played it in 6 months or so), and I won't be picking up a Wii. Nintendo games in general are going more to the "mini-game" and that kind of crap. I hated Final Fantasy for the same thing. I don't buy a game to play the mini-game included! (damn you in game card games!) I loved FF3 on the SNES because it had a story, it was epic, it was fun. You didn't have to play cards to get all the items or some special reward. I picked up FFX because I was going out on a limb and was going to try to get back in... bad idea. I hated the Blitzball tournaments. Absolute torture.
Anyway, I want games that are focused on their intent. If you sell me a fantasy RPG, it better be fantasy (sci-fi or classical) and it better have a story. FYI, I disliked Heavenly Sword for similar aspects (button sequenced transitions like the rope slide in the beginning of the demo. Instant turn-off.)
Games of mini-games are absolute torture to me. Warioware, etc. I'm looking at you.
Also, I am a graphics whore. I don't like retro gaming and I hate spending money on something that looks like it was created two years ago (unless it's DAMN good, and it's pretty hard to convince me that ANYTHING on the Wii is that good. Before you say SSB, I already played that game, on the N64. Sorry. Same with Street Fighter, Mario Kart and all it's sequels.)
I'm sticking to PC/PS3.
It seems the mods need help with this forum. I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.
