Forums - Gaming - My Indie Game - Showing it off at EGX

Just wanted to post that I am showing my new indie game  "Dead of Day" off at EGX at the NEC in Birmingham in September.

Hope some of you guys/gals will be able to visit and say hello and support the project.

Background, been working on it in my spare time for quite a well, trying to get get a bit of progress, not easy when working full time. Got a bank loan and some funding from Creative England and started proper production (while still working full time) on it from about March. It's a modern day dungeon crawler in the same style as Dungeon Master. It's retro style game (i.e 2D/fake 3D) but hopefully updated/modern enough for people to still like :)

Nifty. Let us know when you have media to show. I've not heard of EGX before but it looks nice.

Will do thanks :) probably in a few weeks should have something to show off.

EGX is a show thats been running for a few years in the UK, it's run by the site Eurogamer, it's a pretty cool event and has some really big stands etc. It used to be run in London but as Earls court is now closed they are running it at the NEC. Should be pretty awesome, I went to Rezzed show they run last year at the NEC and it was alot of fun.

Mines only a single monitor stand surrounded by lots of other indies... but I'm looking forward to doing it :)

Oh, yeah, I have heard of it, just didn't realize that was the Eurogamer show.  I didn't know about the move.

Good luck, hope you have fun.  Should be a good learning experience at the very least.

Quick Video of me making the options screen of the game.

I'm not great at making videos.... The game is slowly coming together, I have only 19 days to get something working though for EGX, so time is against me right now...lol :)

Hm... Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. But best of luck to you. Hopefully others will feel differently.

No worries, it's a retro styled dungeon crawler, so if your not into that then you wont like this :)

Old school dungeon crawling is one of the hardest genres to stomach. Maybe if you throw a couple of hot chicks in there, it might make it a little bearable. 😕
