Ok, then that's my mainstream definition. Casual for me, is someone totally new to gaming, and all they really know to do is put the disc in and play. They don't know what else the console can do.
So yes, I agree that your casual people would use the VC, and your 2 points make sense. MAN........is a user here?
And I just saw your 2nd question. That would be up to nintendo. They have enough space on the channels on the home screen (48 if I remember), but channels take up a lot of space.......so again the hard drive issue (lack of it) comes into play.
