Kotaku said it's boring so I think it's kind of impossible.

No way. The story is much shorter, the music is bad and bad parts of Xenoblade like hundreds of boring and simple fetch quests have been increased to 300 hours of game play.

In Xenoblade you could ignore the side quests and still had 90 hours of story and AAA gameplay and a real JRPG soundtrack. In Xenoblade X the good parts were taken away (music) or reduced (story) and the bad parts (badly designed sidequests) were heavily increased.

How do you know all that? Did you play the Jap version?

Well the Japanese critics liked it a lot less. Not that that's necessarily indicative of Western gaming opinions, but probably not a good sign nonetheless.

low to mid 80's

86-91 is my estimate.

I will go with an 87, though Metacritic seems to be a lot tougher on Nintendo this year than it was last year, so maybe it will be lower.

(Nothing as cute as Yoshi's Woolly World deserves any less than a 90, goshdarnit. Look how cute it is. )
