After that, hopefully they'll announce Metroid Dread.

Hoho, sounds like they're going shopping.
Q10: Are you the president of Nintendo?
A10: (Iwata) Yes
Q11: Really?
A11: (Iwata) Yes
Q12: You?
A12: (Iwata) Yes

...I was also happy to hear about Splatoon reaching 1m sales.
That's very nice of you Mr. Investor.
A12: Iwata: We're happy that Splatoon, in which new squid characters squirt ink, has been received well and sold 1m quickly.
The squirting part wasn't needed.

Here we go. This is one of the most important thing said today if it hold any water, especially if it's used in the gaming space. Buy Capcom. That's a Disney Marvel-level purchase. Confirm that rumored partnership with Disney to start making Nintendo movies. That would be monumental for your brand. Buy a western dev studio with beloved IP like Square did with Eidos. That would be instrumental to your mass appeal. Buy, buy, buy now before the NX is out so you can start off strong.

It's about damn time, too.
Nintendo's been saying that for some time, don't read too much into it.
Don't expect a Capcom level buy out, Japanese goverment might not even let them, that's why Nintendo doesn't own Bandai.
If they buy anybody its small time like the late Imageepoch.

Well I hope they do keep supporting the Wii U at least till 2017. But from the way he said it, it seems like satisfying Wii U customers wasn't even a priority for them.
