So they scrapped it at the last second because showing fans a game thats been delayed would dissappoint them?

Then why did they in 2011, and 2014, 5 and 2 years prior to release respectively? Quit with the bullshit reasons Reggie.

Though, to their defense, the 2011 showing was a tech demo and wasn`t an actual game in development, and they officially revealed Zelda U with the assurance that it would be a 2015 game, but then it got delayed. They probably don`t want to repeat that again until they are sure the game will be released not long after.

Reggie makes me sad, sometimes.

The point that they thought it would be a 2015 game doesn't really explain much. If they showed a game in mid-2014 while expecting it to release in late 2015, why not show a game in mid-2015 while expecting it to release in late 2016?

It was a terrible decision. Most Nintendo fans wouldn't be complaining as much if they showed it.

Maybe because of what happened with the previous situation. Perhaps they don`t want to repeat what could happen again if the game ends up being delayed again to 2017 (Though if that were to happen again, that would be really embarrassing and terrible looking on their part). It`s unlikely to happen, but it is something that could def happen again, which seems like at least Reggie would like to avoid.
