It didn't make sense to push the VR headsets this year. The point of this year was to have them in plenty on the show floor with real games. Right now they are trying to get feedback from people on things missed in testing, and they are trying to fleash out the launch titles. Pushing hard right now when people can not walk into Best Buy, Target, or Walmart and try it themselves does nothing. Next year we will see AAA holiday titles for VR, and have them available at retailers around the world so consumers can experience it for themselves.

So far I think they have done an amazing job with VR at E3. They have shown that their is a massive amount of content in development, and it will be well supported from day one. Now they just need to keep things rolling through the next 12 months. We should be seeing VR at many game and non game related events from here on out.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Well this may sound sarcastic but I think all it takes for VR to take off on a mainstream level is porn.
I seriously believe a shitton of people would buy these devices with porn as a killer app, from there they´ll use it for TV and games.

EDIT: In terms of market size the future of gaming is and for the forseeable future will be mobile.
