Well at least something positive.

There have been a lot of positive things, actually.

I mean since the direct, there have been a lot of threads from nintendo fans venting out their dissapointment.  I guess this kind of announcement could help soft the frustration into something else.

On Splatoon’s success/new IPs…

Moffitt: You’re probably right. That could have been under Mario. We love the fan response to Splatoon. It’s gotten off to a fantastic start worldwide. It’s driving console sales for us. It’s generated Wii U momentum, and that’s momentum we’re going to carry through to Super Mario Maker, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, Amiibo Festival, and beyond.

Can we actually get worldwide numbers for this if it is so splendid. Not trying to belittle splatoon, but I want to know if it even made over 400k first week. Compared to the moderate boost mario kart 8 gave last year, saying that it drives console sales without actual numbers to compare to last year does not say much.

Likewise, I am also concerned on what they're using to "carry momentum" until super mario maker since they literally have no retail release over the summer. Batman however is releasing soon on everything else, which seems concerning for the wii u's image.

Whenever someone refers to Splatoon as a FPS, I cringe.

You're face is going to be stuck that way. I haven't heard anyone correctly call it a TPS yet. Everywhere I look it's FPS, FPS, FPS, no matter how well-informed or professional the speaker.

That acronym seems to have acquired a connotation beyond its actual meaning.

I'm so confused why is everyone calling splatoon a FPS??? Its clearly a TPS. I mean these guys are supposed to be proffesionals. The gaming world is definately a strange place these days.
