Forums - Gaming - Remakes vs. Annual Releases... is one better or worse?

Title says it all. In my book the are about the same in appeal. Marginally better than predecessors but familiar enough that is a safer bet with my money.

Thoughts?

Annual releases, are definately better than Remakes in my opinion.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

I'm fairly neutral against both, to be perfectly honest.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Depends on the game. If the game is great, there is no need to change it and you can just add a bit to the already working formular every year. Some are apparently so bad that they need to be remade from scratch.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Annual Sales for the most part... Unless its FFVII remake

If we're talking about a true remake like Resident Evil (2002) or GoldenEye (2010) then I will choose remakes as the better option.

If we're talking about a remastered game like The Last of Us, then I'd give a slight edge to an annual release. At the very least it's new content, even if that content is more likely than not recycled.

Both are fine with me, given that the game is good
