i honestly cannot believe that you Nintendo guys are so up in arms about this digital event. Yes, it was a bit underwhelming, but this IN NO FUCKING WAY indicates that Nintendo is "giving up" on the Wii U or that NX (whatever the hell that is) is launching next year.
I'm just completely in shock the reaction that Nintendo fans are having about this. They limited the event to games coming out this year,

First, it wasn't a bit underwhelming. It was very, very, VERY, VERY EXTREMELY underwhelming.
Now onto the actual point. I always defended the idea that the NX was a far in the future thing that would only be released in 2017, but I am now concerned and believe Nintendo are indeed giving up on the Wii U. There are reasons to believe that.
"They limited the event to games coming out this year" that's why. Look back down the years... Last year we saw Zelda Wii U, Xenoblade X, Yoshi's Woolly World, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Splatoon, Mario Party 10 and got the announcement of Star Fox Zero. That's three 1st half 2015 games, three 2nd half 2015 games, and one 2016 game. Look at E3 2013... they were talking about Mario Kart 8 (2014 1st half), Super Smash Bros. (2014 2nd half), Xenoblade X (2015), etc... see the trend? Why would they suddenly stop talking about stuff coming out in the following year? It just screams giving up on the console.
And then they go saying they're not developing Metroid and if they were to make one it would probably be coming to the NX... and well, they simply decide to not show Zelda Wii U because it gets delayed to after their "early next year" deadline, despite it being an obviously much better ending to the show than several people playing the Mario theme. It really, REALLY looks like they're just about to give up on the Wii U and aren't telling us because they want to squeeze another 12 months of sales before they release the NX.
I hope I'm wrong, but you can't be so sure they're not doing this.
