Forums - Gaming - Some things not making sense with PS4, XB1, Nintendo, etc.!

3rd party developers will always go where the money is, so whatever loyalty a company seemed to have in the past was merely an impression. It just happened, that for a certain period, sticking only to PS platforms was the best financial move for them.

I agree, MS made a mistake by not getting CoD. They have what, Fallout 4 and The Division as their biggest? Those games are nothing compared to CoD sales on consoles.

loyalty was gone when PlayStation launched and everyone deserted Nintendo. Devs need to make money to stay afloat and profitable.

You mean when PlayStation launched and Nintendo continued to use cartridges right?

Word is that FF7 is not coming to X1. Its a partnership like SFV.

It will come to the PC later though, thats what they meant.

Well if you're going to argue about loyalty, then FF belongs on Nintendo...

this.  FFVII only went to Sony because of Nintendo's decision to stick with carts.

This game stood out because

1. First FF game on a system other than Nintendo

2. By going to disc, they were able to put in cd quality music, and an enormus amount (at the time) of FMV's. This game would have been too expensive on a cartridge based system. This was a 3 disc game.

Tomb Raider was on 360, Xbox Saturn, Dreamcast, N64 and even Gamecube why should it be a Playstation IP?

Loyalty is a fanboy thing not a corporation thing. Corporations will make you believe about their loyalty but only one thing is important to them and that is making money.

There were other Final Fantasy games before 7 you know and they were on Nintendo consoles.

Corporations are too attached to names (people too though) and if a name did brought them money they will use that name over and over again (example Forza and Forza Horizon, the Tom Clancy series etc). But if the name didn't brought them money they will stay away from it... Shenmue.

COD... in case you didn't know, COD was the best selling franchise on Playstation 3 that means PS gamers cared more for shooters like COD than games like Uncharted, any RPGs or adventure games, any fighter or racing games, any indy, any sports etc. Don't act like shooters are just popular outside of PS, that's a big lie.

And Monster Hunter to Sony, and Bayonetta to Sony/Micro.

There is no loyalty beyond first party studios.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
