Forums - Gaming - Game that disturbed you the most?

In the history of games, there have been numerous that have either been brutally violent, awfully scary, or just downright offensive. Which one disturbed you more than any other? Was it a horror game, ala Resident or Silent Hill? Was it an otherwise normal with a creepy section, like Earthbound? Was it a game that glorifies sensitive topics, such as RapeLay, Ethnic Cleansing and Postal? Personally, I don't really get disturbed by games, but once I did with Nanashi no Game for the Nintendo DS, when the one guy kills the game designer's wife and smears her blood all over the walls. Even though this is done off-screen, and I have seen much worse and didn't get disturbed, the way that the guy looked was very creepy to me. (it is around the 20 minute mark)

I played Silent Hills 2 for the first time last year in the winter season during my de.... let's just say that it damaged my psyche.

.- -... -.-. -..

DreamWeb, a game from 1992 by Empire Interactive. The plot was to kill seven people supposedly in a conspiracy to destroy the dreams of humanity, with lots of gruesome imagery. But by reading the diary included with the game as copy protection, it's unclear as to whether the "Dreamweb" plot is reality in the game's world or whether your character is just a serial killer acting on schizophrenic delusions. Admittedly, that plot point appears only in the paper documentation and not in the game itself. The game's ending has you being gunned down by the police. It also had a depressing, if well done, musical score.

When I played Metro Last Light for the first time, I thought it was pretty disturbing, mainly the intro, and a part of the game near the end.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Well. The game that disturbed me most was Knack because it was so terrible.
Although, in the darker sence of the word, it would have to be Condemned, it just edges out penumbra.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

When my friend invited me over to play Amnesia, that was my first real exposure to a horror game and it freaked me out. Just the whole atmosphere was enough to really start to scare me. Same thing happened recently when I played PT.

Just try to play it and keep a straight face. I dare you!

I was playing Silent Hill 2 at about 2am with the lights off, no one else in the house.  Why, I have no idea.  Then this happened and it scared the absolute hell out of me.  It might seem silly but I kept playing after that BECAUSE I didn't want to go to bed.  I was one of those situations where you're suddenly very aware of every little sound in the house and that you're all alone.
