Another game that's worth to wait for.
I finished VP on PSX (and completed optional dungeon 11 times) and loved this game.

I didn't get the A ending as well... I thought it was too much trouble for it :P

I think it has one of the best battle systems ever made, and I played it about 3 years ago

 the backgrounds are a bit weird now though.

yeah, it's a direct port to PSP, and no, I didn't get the alternative "A" ending, I even looked it up online to how to get it but I couldn't do it myself.

Ditto for the most part.  I started a second game to get the A ending but never got around to finishing it.

The combat system was great.  It was simple without being too simple and the battles played out amazingly and looked it too (especially for the time).

That screenshot is sadly very reminscent of a tactics-style game so I kind of understand your complaints...

I got the A ending.
Only the A ending is worth watching, and I consider it average.
All the other endings just plain suck....

It is just (1) a portrait (2) sprites and (3) a dialogue box, which, yeah, are in pretty much every RPG game, but that doesn't really tell us much about the game. If it's just a port/update of the original...meh, I feel the same as you. But who knows, it might be a fresh original game. I'll reserve judgment either way till I have more info.

Any of you casting judgement based on a screenshot have clearly never played the original Valkyrie Profile

That said.... on the fucking DS?! come on... I refuse to buy a handheld, and I sure as hell don't want to play my RPGs on one. No doubt the development costs are dramatically lower, but dammit.

I guess I'll have to miss out on this one :(

I completed Valkyrie Profile on the PS1 when it came out, and it was a fantastic game.  I did get the 'A' ending, it's not too difficult to get, and can be done without a strategy guide (unlike a million things in FFXII that you HAD to have the strategy guide to even have a hope of knowing.  Who the fuck sits in a tiny part of a cavern for 5 minutes motionless to see if a mark appears, and then does it over and over again in case it was the wrong part of the cavern)

The only thing I will grant you is that I hate handhelds and their tiny screens, and I refuse to play any rpgs on them, let alone anything else

Ya hear that Nintendo. Someone who refuses to buy a portable system, finds it ridiculous to have VP on DS.

Really Dude. What do you care if a game you say is fantastic is released for the millions of people who own a portable system. VP is already on the PSP anyway. Sounds cool to me. I may get it.
