 yeah, it's a direct port to PSP, and no, I didn't get the alternative "A" ending, I even looked it up online to how to get it but I couldn't do it myself.

 VP on PSP looks pretty dated, still loved the combat system, but if that's the screen of the actual game, I'm not excited. Feel free to call me a troll if you please

Ditto for the most part.  I started a second game to get the A ending but never got around to finishing it.

The combat system was great.  It was simple without being too simple and the battles played out amazingly and looked it too (especially for the time).

That screenshot is sadly very reminscent of a tactics-style game so I kind of understand your complaints...
