Forums - Sony - Greatness is on the horizon in 2016

So E3 is knocking on the door and even though 2015 is a little sparse in exclusive content compared to the Xone, Sony's seems to finally is going to fullfil it's promise this E3. On multiple sites the game with one of the most awesome conceptarts ever made by a certain Dutch studio owned by Sony is probably going to show itself. This studio recently hired The Witcher III and blizard veterans. After Bloodborne and the track record of guerilla games, this might be the first fully Sony developed game to truely achieve the promised greatness.

The guys at guerilla Amsterdam are bussy for a long time on this game and the expectations for this game will undoubtly be superhigh after the trailer on E3 they only have to show a robodinosaur for that and make it not free to play or another console MMO. Where ready at dawn failed to make an awesome concept into a great game, it's arguably good but most would say it's mediocre and not only for it's short playthrough time and low replayvalue. I could see that Guerila Amsterdam (which is a pretty big studio) is the best studio for the job, Killzone Shadowfall is still one of the best looking PS4 games and the semi open world aproach missions in Killzone worked good enough for them to make an open world game with some help of employers who worked on the finest open world rpg's we know yes I am talking about the Witcher series.

The Killzone series always had a intresting story and didn't care to show that war is very dirty game in which there isn't a clear good and evil, especially Killzone 2 did that very well. Potentially Horizon could be a very good RPG with an intresting story and concept I have faith in the Dutch studio and it's about time Sony's homeland in therms of sales produces a great game for PS4 and another Sony studio joins the likes of ND and Santa Monica, with Horizon Guerilla could just do that in 2016, which will be a great year for PS4.

Not done with it yet so since I haven't finished it how could i judge it and even though I love it, the consolepeasant loading times for the Witcher 3 are taking so long when you accidently die. Sony promised greatness on PS4 not C.D> because I could play the Witcher 3 also on a Xone or PC

so go ahead and buy the witcher 3 on PC or XB1 then and dont play it on your PS4. because last time i checked, Sony made a system powerful enough and good enough for first, second and third parties to make games on. just because a third party made a great game on Sony's console doesnt mean sony has nothing to do with it. if you dont believe me just go and ask nintendo

PS4 has more exclusives releasing this year than XBox One, XB1 is barren compared to PS4 for exclusives games, it's 6 exclusives on PS4 to 2 on Xbox One.
Also Sony have basically dealt with everything releasing this summer before E3, they could have left August and September release dates and new gameplay to reveal at E3, but they didn't.

There's plenty of prospects for Sony to announce at E3 and release this Holiday.
Horizon has been in development since KZ2 shipped (end of Jan 2009 to go gold for release in late Feb 2009), even if they experimented for a year after they'd be over 5 years into the project at this point, nearly 6 by the end of this year, it could easily release this Holiday.

GG have mentioned the time they have been working on the game. 2.5 years at the time the PS4 launched in japan. so around 3 years and 9 months by now.

I'll just put this here:

^Horizon started development right after KZ3. It's been 4 years or more. I don't know why some people predict it as a fall 2016 title, it's definitely coming much earlier than that. I say no later than May.

It's on the horizon every year.

Let's just say Nintendo is Nintendo and with that I mean they are as ignorant as a 7 year old kid in a supermarket who wants candy when it comes to third party support. In the end Sony had little to do with the development of the Witcher 3 since almost halve of the total sales where on that platform CD couldn't ignore that (or there management wouldn't have payed attention during class). Making a system powerful enough isn't much of a feat either since MS did the exact same thing and has perhaps even worse loading times, which is a major flaw for fantasy rpg's.

So in my eyes Sony has partly fulfilled there promise with Bloodborne and it is up to Uncharted and Horizon to fully fullfil it, great third party support doesn't mean Sony can sit back they should at least make that one great game which justifies all Sony/PS4 has no exclusive games argument. Uncharted 2 did that for the PS3 and it's still one of the greatest games out of the 7th gen. And I would have liked Sony's system a bit more powerfull or with a faster HDD but that's another topic.
