Forums - General - What's the most important thing that you've learned about life?

I'm not lonely.  I just have very little to no faith in anybody.  I hope my kids won't grow up to be failures, but I can't predict their futures.  If you only have faith in yourself you can only blame yourself when things go wrong.  I'm not the kind've person who will blame others for my failures.

I'll have to read the whole thread later, but probably the most important thing I've learned is that "on a long enough timeline, everyone's survival rate drops to zero."

There ya go people. Start panicking, for we are all going to die.

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice

That you can never have a civil worthwhile debate on internet forums without someone throwing out an curse or two.

In order to have freedom and equality, their must be law and inequality.

People aren't equal, you have smart ones and dumb ones, strong ones and weak ones, luck of the draw really. But society makes everyone the same and most of the time the strong and the smart are drug down to the assistance of the dumb and the weak.

You can't say black without a million lawsuits headed your way.

Never trust anyone

Illegal immigration blows and costs me a ton of cash

There are lots and LOTS of jerks who will do anything to get past you and put you down, the only way to get past them is to be..a jerk.

You can't say anything conservative in class or the professor will mark you down one letter grade (true story, on 2 occasions)

Half my taxes goes to crap i don't support.

You can't reason with a fanboy

Team projects blow if you want an A, everyone will leech off you and you have to do everything.

There are a lot of stupid people out there, and it's the job of the smart to make life for the stupid better.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I haven't learned a damn thing.

"There are a lot of stupid people out there, and it's the job of the smart to make life for the stupid better."

Sad truth, but at least the smart get paid better for doing it.

OT: Reason is above all things, don't let emotions carry you but don't ignore then neither.

Never trust anyone, that is important and i learned it the hard way. You never know, your friends today can be your enemies tomorrow.

You only live once, do whatever the f*** you want unless it's a crime or it can do harm to someone, just have fun.

Flow -"The important is to pwn other ppl"

The only thing I feel is true that I have learned is that all you need to do is just keep moving. No matter what happens, and no matter how good/bad a situation you are in the most important thing is to keep moving forward. In the end everything will work out for the best so long as you don't let anything hold you back. There is always something better than anything you have ever experienced before just around the next corner.

For myself I've learned that happiness is over-rated. The reasons why are numerous but the main one is that the unhappy parts of life are necessary to fully appreciate the happy ones. Of course, I could be wrong. What is your experience?

 I agree.  Although this is easy for people to say who have had more happy times then bad.  If I was starving in africa or homeless i'm not sure i'd have the same outlook.

EFFORT = FAILURE
EXPECTATIONS = DISAPPOINTMENT
HOPE = DISILLUSIONMENT
LOVE = REGRET
CHAOS = PROGRESS
