Forums - Microsoft - Theory: Does The Xbox One's Launch Have Nothing To Do With It's Slow Sales*? (*Compared To The PS4 )

Sales is a very unique market. X1 launched in 13 countries for almost 1 year compared to the PS4 which was selling in 70+ so that alone leads to bigger sales gap. Sony also threw punches at the X1 making it sound inferior to there product which can have a great effect on sales as well. Some times good products sell less based on marketing strategies. MS marketed wrong even though there's nothing wrong with there product. The X1 could have been the superior console and still not sell based on how its marketed. Its a strange business but sometimes mistakes are made to only benefit the brand. PS3 went though an even worse generation with the marketing on the PS3. X1 is doing the same this gen, sometimes its a good wakeup call. Either way never judge a product until you try it.

Uhnnnn I thought we finally got over the 13 vs 51... besides it not being 1 year, it was MS decision... and Japan, Mainland Europe and RoW couldn't careless if X1 came to the market... Italy launched together.... now it's 5:1... there is no single market were X1 leaded so your claim is even more preposterous than when Kowen made it some 18 months ago (because at least at the time he didn't have numbers to compare, you do).
