Forums - Gaming - Buying PlayStation and Xbox games on discs isn't going away

Originally, on PS3, I would only buy disc based versions of games, as I wasn't spending 60 bucks on a digital copy.... Then the flash sales started happening. Then, I'd even buy games I already owned on disc just to save my bluray disc drive the trouble.

Now, I've got so many games, I've had to upgrade to a TB HDD, and it's copying the data, (a 12 hour process) right now.

On PS4, I'm going back to physical, again. Game file sizes are too big, and i want to ensure I can play those games if somethign ever happened to the network. However, once PS4 starts getting big flash sales, I just may start doing the same thing all over again.

The main thing is that I'm never spending more than 30 bucks on a digital game. Ever. That's just too much. I'll get a disc if I'm getting a game on release day- I already don't trade my games in. No matter how much I dislike them (eyes SFxT on PS3) Funny thing is that even though I dislike SFxT, I still bought the PS3 and vita versions in the capcom weekly sale on PSN... And, I'm enjoying it... on Vita. Different level of expectations, I suppose.

However, as I said, it all depends on the price for me... Especially if I have to upgrade HDDs to keep up with the games I'm downloading. 60 bucks a digital game, then 200 dollars for a 3TB hard drive that'll fill up in a year or two? No. But 10 dollars for a digital game, makes it ok.
