Forums - Nintendo - Will we get a Zelda game this Christmas?

So the past 2 years nintendo gave us some sort of zelda games "to bypass the time to The legend of zelda wii u". Both games got announced at e3 and released shortly after.

e3 2013 - wind waker HD announced, released later 2013

e3 2014 - Hyrule Warrior announced, released later 2014

scince we dont get zelda wii u this holiday do you think they will have a new smaller zelda game to bridge the time?

Maybe a new remake of an old zelda game (oot, mm (unlikely), TP, SS)

Maybe Hyrule Warriors 2?

Maybe a complete new spin off ? What could this be/would be possible. It should be a large franchise which can be developed fast. Remember, Nintendo said dec.2014 still TLOZ for Wii U will arrive 2015 and changed their mind in march. So the new game would just have like 7-8 month development time (WWHD took 6 month).

Maybe some sort of Real Time strategy game that uses the gamepads touchscreen for controls?

No, and I really hope the next Zelda we get is Zelda U.
There is no need for more Remakes and Spin offs imo.

They have damaged enough the brand this gen with a flood of reused content. The best for the franchise is to forget these dark times and the team to do the right thing: develop an original complete Zelda game and release it next holiday season (2016). No more delays, no special editions, no DLC, no amiibo. Just the complete game.

Doubt it.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

They didn't delay development of Zelda U just so they can make something else instead though. At least not according to Aonuma, going by what he said one would assume they're working on Zelda U full-time right now.

Still, Nintendo is unpredictable however so you never know what they'll have, but personally I'm not expecting anything. Guess we'll know in a few weeks, can't wait!

I am intrigued by that 'RTS-Zelda' spin-off idea though .

Probably Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword HD or a combo pack. However I still dont think it'll be necessary since im in the camp who thinks Zelda U will be out in February

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

This is something that bother me. What were they doing before to not be full-time? Because as far as I know, Hyrule Warriors was developed by Namco, and both OoT and MM3D for Grezzo. That's a very interesting point. Maybe helping on other game? A new handheld game?

I hope so too but tbh doubt it. Skyward Sword was is January 2010 also a 100% end of 2010 release and we got it end 2011....

I doubt it.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
