Ugh, the wait for FFXV is starting to become unbearable!!! If only I could go into cryo sleep for a month and a half.

How can you still be so hyped for it after all the damage Tabata has done? I still want to play it, but my hype died once Tabata's vision took over and ruined Nomura's vision.

What damage is that?

If I get the Xbox one s, and get a 4k TV will future games truly look 4k even though they are only upscale do from 900p or 1080 . Like for Example will Forza horizon 3 really better on an an S AND
4k TV?

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

From what I heard the upscale to with Slim and a 4k TV with normal One games isnt much difference. However, there is a difference apparently with Xbox One games that support HDR (whiter whites, and darker darks). I believe Forza supports HDR as well as Gears 4. But you have to buy a 4K tv that supports HDR.

I mainly wanted it because I know Scorpio will most likely support some kind of 4k, as well as owning the cheapest 4k blu ray player.

HDR I believe is a newer feature. I think most have them, but it should say it on the product description.

The one I now have has it. It won't be hidden in the product information.

Sorry to bring Sony in this thread but I think on the playstation meeting they will announce neo with 4k support. They have 4k tv's and they want them to sell with the neo so I expect between now and a year significant better and cheaper 4ktv's.

^ Just a little more help

2. You’ll need a 4K TV

To check if you have a 4K TV, you can consult the packaging or manual for your TV. Different manufacturers have different names, but here are somethings to look for:

Commonly used names for 4K: 4K, 4K Ultra HD, UHD, UHD 4K, SUHD TV, Ultra HD, Ultra UDTV, 2160p

Listed resolutions or modes: 3840 x 2160 at 24 Hz, 50 Hz, or 60 Hz

Commonly used names for HDR10: HDR Premium, High Dynamic Range, HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep color

To check your TV’s 4K and HDR capabilities, with your Xbox One S connected and on, double-tap the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide. Choose Settings > All settings > Display & sound, then choose Advanced video settings > 4K TV details.

If your system should support 4K and HDR but it isn’t working (for example, you can’t select the 4K UHD resolution, 4K features aren’t supported in the 4K TV details screen, 4K content won’t play, or you’re seeing video quality problems), click here for some help.

If you are using a monitor, you’ll also need to check if it is compatible.

There are two HDR formats that your TV manufacturer can choose to support: HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Your TV must support HDR10 to display HDR content from your Xbox One S. See Troubleshooting 4K and HDR on Xbox One S for more info.

Well I know what a 4ktv is. But that HDR stuff u posted is really useful to me, as is the xbox one 4k settings stuff.

and it's not that I'm completely clueless when it comes to tech. It's just that I didn't care about 4k. My Xbox wasn't 4k comparable. There where no 4k DVDs at the stores, and television wasn't 4k so I didn't see the point. I just skipped over any 4k stuff that I saw. But now that xbox and its games are becoming 4k compatible, and I'm seing UHD movies in the market, and I'm hearing that my tv provider may soon switch over as well I'm extremely interested.
