Was probably more of a PR fail by saying it wasn't required.

They didn't change it if it was never a thing and if there was just some misunderstanding or something.
Both Sony and MS dumping a ton of info before E3.

Well they let the news circulate around for a day before clarifying it. Seems like it was a mistake on their part. I mean its not a big deal since most people have Gold now anyways.

Ehh as long as the multiplayer is good I dont play halo online with a friend locally anyway.

Won't change much, gamers love to whine about everything but in the end it won't really affect sales (that online gold account thing, split screen co-op maybe a little). When I see some gamers I wonder how they handle real life if they are already so upset and whiny about stuff in gaming.

I agree with criss. I don't think it matters as much as people are saying. But if they're gonna whine then by all means, don't buy the game. I'm gonna have a ton of fun either way.
The halo news yesterday was of the best halo news we have had. People can't stop bitching
