The weird thing is that all 3 of them completely sold out (Bethesda said there would be no more of them at all), and yet their sales level is not even. Usually publishers create even stock for a Collector's edition, but for some reason it seems like more PC and PS4 collector's editions were created than XB1 collector's editions. That seems a little odd given Microsoft's marketing deal with Bethesda. Maybe even stock was created, but Amazon just ordered more PC and PS4 stock based on trends of other multiplat games this generation. If that's the case some retailer got more XB1 stock than the others, and sales for the collector's editions are even since it has completely sold out everywhere. The good news for XB1 is that the Fallout 4 Xbox One standard edition has been ranked higher than the PS4 standard edition for about a week now on the hourly charts. Fallout 4 XB1 is at #54 on the July Monthly charts, while the PS4 version is at #82. So there is a chance of Xbox One being the lead console version of Fallout 4 in the US. If Microsoft is smart and bundles it this holiday season, the XB1 version is pretty much guaranteed to be the lead console version in the US. |
I think that explains it all.
And I also think that Fallout 4 will sell much more on XB1 than PS4 in US even without bundling, due to the marketing rights and Bethesda fanbase preferring Xbox over PS.
