Im not talking about brands as a company, I am talking about their gaming branch. A good day for Sony has always been a bad day for their competition since they got in the gaming industry. It took Nintendo god knows how many years to sell 100 million consoles with the Wii (something that cannot be duplicated because of the risk and scarcity of continued demand). Sony did what it took Nintnendo forever to do in their first gen and they exceeded that to a number many dont think will be surpassed anytime soon.

Let this sink in. Sony was in third place (or possibly even tied at this point with MIcrosoft). They've sold over 80 million consoles while being in third place. 80  million+. Lets see Microsoft go into second and do that this gen. Just saying.

Well if you only talk about gaming then I mostly agree with you. Sony is much stronger than Nintendo and MS for consoles. The main downside for Sony is that the console industry is dying but then Nintendo and MS will also face this problem.

Nintendo as a whole is larger than Sony's gaming division. Not based on sales but based on revenues. Nintendo has also been much more profitable.

Well of course. Sony has always took risks on their consoles compared to Nintendo. Nintendo makes the strategically most profitable console that can be made, but they lost third party because of it (as well as other politics). You win some...you lose some.

Gears...

Proud to be a Californian.

Gears for me after playing the beta and the smoothness of it and actually aiming AT poeple instead of a seconds or 2 in front prediction those shotgun kills i'm sure it will be my go to game that I play for the next year.

I can't wait to get my hands on Gears with that buttery smooth 60FPS. The game comes out this year. The new game comes out next year. Im still contemplating going digital or physical.

New gen first titles should always be physical.

Memories remain strong with those. It helps polish those rose tinted glasses.

I should probably get the boxed version for Gears 1 because I might end up not playing that after 4 drops. Having a 3TB HDD helps as well. It helps to get that preorder download done before the games drop with the new consoles. Its a big, big help.

I need to look into that. I already erased some games to make space for others.

Devs really forgot to compress their games this gen. Maybe it compromises game quality.

Yeah, they did. I got a 3TB at target for  $120. That should hold about sixty games on its own. Doing full HDD installs helps the games run smoother. I know I am doing it for Halo 5 and Tomb Raider 2 for sure. The only question is Gears. When Mass Effect comes out I am downloading that on my PS4 though I want that to run smoother with higher resolution. Would've purchased a better TV by the time that comes out.

Do you know the resolution of it?
