Blackberry isnt "happending" thats Apple strategie. Apple is the "hip" product.

What made blackberry so attractive was how it was able to do alot of work related funktions via the software it had, that could tie into microsoft products.

It was basically the best / only real viable phone for work.

So the software made blackberry.

Microsoft is buying them, because they are a software firm.

Not because they want to make 1000$ phone that hipster teens buy.

Lmao at that pic :)
Its only because you posted that "stop trying to make it happend" picture.

But yeah, blackberry probably will never be the "it" phone to get amoung youths.
If MS does buy them I hope that not what they try to do.

Its not what made blackberry popular.

Blackberry is worth 7 Billion? I would have thought they where only in the millions. However I'm sure they have their reasons but who knows.

Blackberry hasn't been doing well for quite some time so I'm surprised they are still worth that much..

its probably for the patents and nothing more.

Interesting.

I'm still a Blackberry user! I actively read news on the company and have heard many companies wanting to buy Blackberry, I think Samsung was the latest before MS, so I take this news lightly. Deal is good for Patents.

Blackberry also owns a company called QNX which is used in those cars you mentioned. It's being used anywhere from outer space to the medical fields. It'd probably be the best thing for MS to acquire from the deal.

I do love my BlackBerry Passport and still want this company to make a comeback although it hasn't been looking bright for awhile now.

That sounds unnecessary. Microsoft already has their own line of phones, and Blackberries (Blackberrys?) aren't even that popular any more.

You have to think deeper than just the phone itself. There's valuable software and assets in Blackberry.

How deep do I have to go? I'm not sure I'm ready for that kind of commitment.
