^i dont think it was poor judgement--she kept the car running, locked the doors, and set the alarm, and never left its site

hence why I said at worst, I wasn't at the scene, if it was a crowded scene it would have been poor judgement, if it wasn't, then it wasn't even that it was a complete non-issue, or atleast should have been

I read the article, I get the point that in this exact case the child was not in any real danger. But, that is not the point. Leaving a child in a car by themselves should be illegal and no-one under any circumstances.

I definitely don't see her getting jail time anyways. Probably just a warning since the child was not in any real danger. But, the simple fact is, if you are going somewhere and you know you will not be able to take the kids out of the car with your for whatever reason, don't go. Do it later with help from other adults or leave the kids with someone else.

mesoteto if she had left the car running it would be por judgement and neglect and everything because the baby couldstart the car or something and innjury him/herself... the mother had to have the keys with her... for it not to be neglect and I think she didnt leave the car running.

Superchunk, temperature inside the car was far better than outside, and it was sleeting, pieces of ice were falling off the sky... she never was more than 10 yards away for gods sake... i hope she wins the case... i have left my sister sleeping in the car while being 5 yards away eating dinner at a taco store (in the outside) because temperature is cold outside and the fact that she is sleepy (she was 6 or 7 years old though) i never stopped watching her but it was like an hour or so, and she was alright sound and happy sleeping inside the car in a nice temperature...

I have to side with the mom on this one

i agree that you should leave you child in the car alone in extreme heat and sometimes even mild weather....but i can reacal many a time my parents left us in the car when we were little and nothing bad ever happend

different situations call for different Judgement, in this situation unless it was busy it was just a sage to leave the child in the car as taking the child out, first the mother would have had to carry the child, which meant the other 2 children would be less directly attended, secondly the odds her falling while carrying the child would probably have been the most likely source of harm regardless of the situation, This isnt' the same as leaving a child in a hot car, that situation should be illegal, as it is.

Sorry, but that is just stupid.

That's like saying "I slept through a tornado once and nothing happened then."
