Forums - Politics Discussion - Christianity has fallen

Christianity is falling because people have increased access to information, and it is easier for them to educate themselves.
Education leads to thinking, and thinking leads to a realization that Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy and Jesus Christ are fictional characters existing only in fairytales.

It is that simple, and nothing complex and xenophobic as you make it out to be.

Though I strongly agree with you and i echo this. It is very disrespectful to word it that way. You are bashing a way of life and as the more "educated person" should be the bigger man/woman.

Here's the thing. Its easy to make generalization, but realize they are generally wrong. Refrences to Shrimp and other unclean foods are in the Old testament, which is the Old Covanent, which practicing Christians, generally, do not observe. That is Judaism. Christians' follow the New Covanent of faith in Christ.

Pedofillia in the Church has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with Corruption, which I reiterate has nothing to do with Religion.

That being said, homosexuality is defined as a sin in the Bible, but the Bible is not anti Homosexuals and neither is Christianity. The hate and the Bigotry come from personal biases and environment. Since many of the people with these views are also Christians or believe themselves to be Christian, despite the fact that intolerance(or really any form of hate really) is actually contradictory to the Bible's teachings, and the hide behind religion to validate their bigotry, the two are often conflated.

In actually, with regards to the Bible, all sins are equal and all men/women are Sinners.

But this is another reason why this whole "debate" is asanine.

Trust me, I am aware of the New Testament being an expansion of the Old Testament. The New Testament and Christianity as a whole has been practiced at the expense of those who are Jewish.
Jews have consistently been blamed, discriminated, and massacred by Christians.

Hell, the amount of times the Christians have attempted to convert the Jewish to their way of thinking is appalling. Constanlt saying how their God is the one true God etc. Whilst blaming the Jews for propheticide and so forth.

The Old Testament is published within the bible, so to deny its existence as being a part of Christianity is asinine. The New Testament is merely an add-on. DLC if you will.

the right is as full of athiests as the left. It's just that the right is happy to use religious conservatism as a political tool.

Not really, one of the most controversial parts of religion...They cancel each other,in old testament you kill the prostitute by  stoning,in New testament who is without a sin first cast the stone...So you can't stone the prostitute!

Technically, you can. You just have to find one without sin to cast the first stone, then the rest can join in.

Or just throw bricks at her, as they are technically mud, not stone.

Jews had to suffer a great, great, great many of injustices nothing can ever make "right", so present day christians can only promise to fight those misguided views within their communities and hope for forgiveness.

Still, many parts of the Old Testament are not consistent with the views and actions of our christian prophet Jesus, whom we view as Gods son and/or part of God. And for those inconsistencies Jesus acts not as "DLC", but as "patch", a really extensive patch that changes almost the whole game - sadly not extensive enough for my own likings though.

If this were the case, why is Christianity still growing?

And I do hope you realize that a Jesus of Bethelhem did exist roughly 2000 years ago, regardless of if you believe what he did was true.

Actually there is no real proof that Jesus Christ ever existed there is definetly no mention of him in any records from the time when he was supposed to be living on this planet.

Well i can certainly say that Christianity is dead in the UK, most secularized country in the world.

Well, you know what, if ditching Christianity makes people happier and gives the world more rights to do what people please, then, for me, we can all go rot in hell.

I've never understood why we should follow a life style that secludes and segregates people for what they'd like to be or think. And I don't include here all christians, because I've met a lot of religious people throughout my life that's perfectly capable of being tolerant and respectful to others; and their christianity doesn't dictate that they should go around promoting social division and stigma. I guess it depends on where you were taught.

Your Hitler comment is misplaced as well, since Franco won in Spain and we've still come to a point where less and less people are being baptized and/or go to church. Maybe they practice their religion at home, but still. Fascism should be dead at this point.
