Forums - Gaming - The Witcher 3 PC Ultra vs PS4 [almost no difference?]

How is the PS4 weak if Bloodborne looks better than the witcher in so many fields and uncharted 4 is also comming out and looks better than the witcher? Devolopers are to be blamed for programming still too CPU focused over the GPU.

I'll give you Uncharted but Bloodborne looking better than the Witcher? No, just no.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I think he is confounding two different thing.  What PC gamers argue is that the long-run cost of Pc hardware+ games+zero online fees is cheaper.

It isn't, I said in that post that price isn't and will never be one of Pc's advantages, it's got many more advantages but price isn't one of them. Also let's not make it seem as if we've never heared the argument " I can build a $400 Pc which will outperfom the PS4" whether or not their morons is debatable.

Online::

PS4 == £40.00 annually (£200.00 or $315.00 over 5 years)

PC == £0.0 annually (£0.00 or $0.00 over 5 years) :p

Game prices at launch::

PS4 == £44.00 (10 games = 440) (100 games == £4,400.00 or $6,924.00)

PC == £35.00 (10 games = 350) (100 games == £3,500 or $5,500.00)

While PC hardware will always be more expensive the price of software is a HUGE advantage to me, not paying for online also helps. Heck PC games are even cheaper than Wii U games and often on par with 3DS games (dafaq) in the UK. Truth be told in my part of the world consoles are actually more expensive, even when excluding piracy.

And here's how to cut corners:

Buy 5 Years worth of PS+ subscriptions during black Friday: $29.99*5= $149.5

Buy games on PS4 for $60 and resell for $30: $30*10=$300 ( Plus you can probably get games much cheaper than that )

A decent PC to allow you to play games for the next five years will cost you at least $600 that only leaves you $250 to use ( for games ) and you'll already be over the price of consoles. Also PC games aren't as cheap as some people make it out to be, just saying.

I think PC are as cheap as people make them out to be :p. Sure, reselling is something I didnt take into consideration but overall I still say software is much cheaper on PC. Also Im not going to wait till Black Friday to get a subscription XD. From where Im standing consoles (in particular handhelds) are fairly expensive in the long term.

BACK ON TOPIC::

People are overreacting as numerous 10880p60 PC videos show a significant step up over consoles (as good as any 8th gen port). YouTube comparisons are ridiculous, ecspecially those locked to 720p

Price is irrelevant. No one goes for PC over consoles because there are no online fees or because games are cheaper. It's just a stupid argument for people who need reinforcement for their choice.

We can sit here all day and count all the pros and cons but that only shows that there are a lot more things to consider than raw data.

You are wrong. I game on Pc because it is cheaper for me. I have about 350 pc games which cost me about $1500 over eight years. I doubt console gamers can say they got 40 games a year on average for $220 a year on average. I have never spent a dime for online except mmo subs. I spent about $1200 on hardware/os in that time, but I used said hardware for my computing needs. A console gamer still needs to purchase a Pc of some type. I choose to combine the two in order to save costs. Ive always had mid end cads too, so better graphics was never a huge motivator. Better gameplay and cheaper long term costs are why I am a PC only gamer this generation while I owned all platforms last generation.

But that is exactly why I built my PC in Feb 2014. I have over 200 games and have spent a total of 400 dollars on them. Also, I can play Titanfall online for FREE and at better reslution and fps than consoles. How is that not a reason for people to go for PC? It's a perfectly valid and worthwhile endeavor.

The same can be said that you are bashing the PC-goers decisions in order to validate your own console of choice that has online fees and more expensive games and worse sales. (I own a pc, wii u, ps4, btw).

Thanks for proving my point. You did not buy a PC for money reasons. You already own all the consoles and money doesn't seem tight with you. You did it because of other factors. For example having a different gaming experience, having access to different games, having better performance, using different peripherals etc etc etc.

Right now there is not a single person in the world sitting in his room pondering over wether to get a PC or a console and deciding for PC due to lack of money. Unless of course there is not even enough money to even get a console at which point there is no choice than to go for a crappy PC. But then the price/performance argument is moot anyway.

That's why I'm saying that arguing over price in the battle between consoles and PC is ridiculous. If there was a clear price winner then that would mean everyone who does not opt for that platform is an idiot who's bad with money. But that's just not true since there are so many other and more deciding factors over which platform to choose.

I also own all platforms and I would say I spent about equally on both consoles and PC. On PC due to hardware and on consoles for software.

This.  I could have built a pc that covers my regular computing needs for about $400 and then spend another $400 on a console for gaming -or- I could just add $200-400 to my pc build for gaming and skip the $400 console all together.  That and when the next consoles release I can probably just get a new gpu to stay current.  In my situation gaming on pc is cheaper overall - even when comparing just the hardware.

On topic- how disappointing.  I expected this game to at least look on par with my Skyrim build.

Yeesh, guess they skimped on the PC version for financial/time reasons.
Disappointing for the PC guys who were hoping for a graphical showcase.

Can people stop with the stupid PC vs. Console shit, please?

Well, they both look equally horrible. At least you can help yourself with higher resolution and fps on PC.

Horrible? I would like to know the reason why you're saying they look horrible.

But I have a feeling I already know.
