- 1 weapon unlocked every level
- More than 20 weapons by now
- The gear is randomize every day, giving you access to 6 new itmes per shop everytime. 
- Even when you find gear that you already have the abilities attached to it are probably different.

It has way more weapons than I though at first. And from my experience on the demo, one of the funniest things of Splatoon is trying different weapons.

Wait the guns come with preset gernades and abilities?  Seems like a weird decision, I'd rather they let me customize my loadout not choose it for me.

That´s what they have done. That´s exactly why there´s more than 20 preset combinations of weapons, to avoid unbalanced combinations.
Just because is different is not worse. Don´t worry about it.
