Forums - Gaming - Halo 3 - Your honest opinion on the game.

i enjoyed playing through the campaign with a friend a few times and playing the last level over and over again on the hardest setting and playing capture the flag about 50 times, but then it started to get old, it might have been do to over saturation seeing as i played it for a day straight

I loved the game, but the parts where it would slowdown with Cortana and the gravemind drove me insane. I just wanted to finish the game and that shit kept coming up. I only played a couple games online, i was never a big fan of it.

The worst part was how short it was, even on legendary with a friend it went really fast.  But i beat the story atleast 4times, i never grow tired of the halo series.

To be honest the single player was nothing revolutionary (unlike the first Halo) but well polished and enjoyable. It was a little on the short side for me beating it in about about six hours, but most of my time with the game is with multiplayer anyway so I wasn't too annoyed. What does get annoying is that People expect an entirly fresh and origional game when the first in the series was just that. Therefore, anyone knocking it down for the sake of origionality must remember that the game was a re-birth to the genre with the rechargable health bar and weapon carrying system, so in some way or another, almost every FPS you see today builds upon some things Halo started (COD4 included).

On the other hand you have the online play. It brings two new things to the table those being forge; a map editor, and the theator which allows you to edit save and replay games and videos. Now I havn't played COD4 but I'm assuming it lacks these features which I have personally enjoyed a ton so from a community and feature standpoint I would have to say Halo leads the market undeniably.

good but never better. it's pretty bland and was overrated too much.

halo 3 was a great all round experience, except for a somewhat lacking single player experience.

The story mode is insanely fun with 2-4 people, but alone it's crap. Turning on skulls could make for some crazy levels. IMO the hardest level was the covenant. My favorites were halo and flood gate

Innovation wise it had the forge, map editor, and meta points. Soon all three of those will become the standard of fps, especially sci-fi shooters.

To enjoy the story u have to play 1 and 2. The theme song is the best song in gaming and the game has a perfect soundtrack

online is fun because it can go from a social playing with friends game to being an intense clan battle. Not to mention the weekly tournaments there doing now

my favorite part of the game was the forge and user-created maps, pictures, and videos that can be uploaded to bungie.net and stay there for players to download.
U should see how creative some people are like the guys at rooster teeth who created griffball

It was my first Halo. I loved it!

So I really really hate this game alot. But here is my synopsis

The Game Itself: It's an average run of the mill shooter. Anyone who has played HL or UT knows that it's not "God's gift to shooters." The game itself isn't terrible, just not that good.

The Scene: This is probably where I get my Halo hate from. From the people who can't stand to lose and blame it on the map to all the dumbasses on Xbox Live, it really turns me off. Seriously, at times I feel like selling my Xbox 360 because of the big Army of Haloboys. But I tell myself, I'll enjoy Lost Odyssey, DOA, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, and Infinite Undiscovery.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

It was the first Halo game I had owned, and was definately worth the purchase at least for the multi-player anyway. The single player mode was polished and enjoyable, but just like Cod4 too short. For me personally it's not as good as Cod4 but still an enjoyable fps that delievers what it promise's.

Unfortunately I can't give my opinion on the multiplayer since I do not have a broadband internet connection. But as for the single player campaign I really enjoyed it so far [I haven't finished it yet, XBOX 360 is broken ) I must say that I have never played any Halo games prior to Halo 3 so that may have been a factor in me liking it very much.

To claim Halo 3 was a crap game is just trolling at its extreme. You must be looking for attention.

7.5 million copies sold world wide in under 6 months to date tells us it is an amazingly popular game. 5.4 million copies of Halo 3 sold in the North American region alone. Halo 3 will probably get to around 10 million copies sold world wide.

I reckon Halo 3 is a great game, the best multi-player game in the Halo series and the second best campaign in the series just behind Halo: Combat Evolved. The music scores in Halo 3 were amazing, the game play was excellent, the graphics were good.
