You're also wrong about Splatoon being Game of the Year. I don't even care what the media or people might say - Star Fox is the only true game of the year for 2015 and nothing will change that! (other than a delay, I guess)

Umm, but on a more serious note, can't see Splatoon getting any GOTY awards. They don't give those to first-party Nintendo games, regardless of how good and fun they might be. Look at how Smash and Mario Kart 8 last year and you'll see what I mean. Splatoon is just like those.

I'm a bit unaware of the stuff coming out for other platforms this year, but I believe the usual shortlist would have The Witcher 3, Star Wars Battlefront, Batman Arkham Knight, Xenoblade Chronicles X and... something else, I guess.
