Man I remember a year ago when half of this site was certain that the Wii U forecast was just them lowballing it and a ton of people ragged on one guy for saying they would only barely hit their forecast... and now we have this.

Nintendo has to learn and change or they can just leave the dedicated hardware market to focus on their actual strength: their software.

This ^^

Neogaf OP:    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1042135

look again.  he obviously had it wrong first time.

Yeah saw it but you were asking where I got it from so =p.

Does anyone do math these number s are the end of March. Which what I see we are a week ahead of the fiscal year meaning subtract the 41,000 and shipped numbers are pretty close and pretty Damm good for a free site. Also if anyone has noticed WiiU last year around this time on Amazon wasn't even in their top one hundred but this year has been averaging #58, I say things are starting to pick up. Finally missing their goal my only 15 percent is a win in business standards, why because your business most likely is in the black

If Vgchartz has Wii U sold almost higher than nintendos own shipped numbers.......
how much is it over tracked here? 400k? or something?

That's reaching far. I'd say about 150K > x > 50K

There is pretty much no way it would be as low as 50k.  The week ending March 29th shows a 68k gap between shipped and sold in Japan (Media Create, 80k Famitsu).  VGC has the Wii U at 9483k WW as of the same week.  So that means even if it was 100% sold out in the rest of the world, it would be 11-23k overtracked.  If Japan has that many on shelves, The Americas and Other almost certainly have more stock.

I'd say the overtracking is probably 250k+.

The only bad thing is that they missed their aims, nintendo has been really inaccurate with its forecasts...
All the others are great and it smashed analysts expectations...
What makes me wondering is how they posted that high profit while they missed their aims...41.8B yen operating profit, wow, analysts were expecting 25b yen revised from 20b yen...
It's outstanding when you compare it with the previous fiscal year when it had posted 46b yen operating loss, they reversed that completely!

So WiiU shipments 2014: 2.72 m VS 2015: 3.38 m. That´s around 25% UP
Also wiiu software 2014: 18.8m VS 2015: 24.44m. That´s around 30% UP

And overall it´s a profitable year despite the 3DS expected drop.

FY 2015 financial expectations: $300m profit on $4.7bn revenue. (hmmm)

The heck? What do they spend their money on?

Not really unless you expect 100% accuracy which would be silly. Assuming the true sold to consumer number is just below the amount shipped, then VGC wasn't ridiculously far off and still gave the right idea.

My post mainly refers to Wii U not even hitting 10 million shipped yet. And still being below their super low forecast that people said they were lowballing because of MK8 and SSBU.

Ah, well then yeah it's sad, but eh, also expected at this point.

Only 25% up with MK8 and Smash in the same year. That's not too good.
