Forums - Gaming - For How Long DO You Remember A Game's Story Before You Forget It?

So what I want to know from you guys is for how long, you continue to remember the story of a particular game. By remember I mean that you can maybe remember one or two details but you can't actually form a summary of the whole story of the game.

In my case I can probably remember the whole story of a game for a couple of months but after probably 1 or 2 years I only remember a couple of details found in that game and not much else.

Really depends on the game.. if I like it, chances are, I played it multiple times so I can remember the story for years

But for other completed games, I'd say 6-12 months before I start to forget the story. (though I forget the character's names before that)

It depends of the complexity of the story. I remember better Pokemon Gold than Assassins Creed Revelations, even if Revelations is barely a couple of years old.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I've never forgotten a games story that I play. But that may be because I place story in high priority when I play one

I generally remember them for good. Depending how convoluted they are. Some I just stop caring about and then instantly forget. I have done that with black flag most recently. So many unmemorable characters that are supposed to mean something but don't. Was just recently playing it and I killed some traitor dude that was apparently a big deal. No recollection of him at all cause it's so convoluted and ridiculous. I pretty much just play the game for something to do but I'm not that interested in the story at all. But generally I remember full stories as long as they are coherent and interesting to me.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I usually forget the plot in a matter of minutes after I finished playing the game. This is because I mostly play JRPG's and those games are known for having convulted stories.

It's not that I forget it, I just don't remember it. If you mention something about the game you might trigger my memory and I will suddenly remember everything about the game.

The same thing happens with my studies, only it's easier because the information is all on my head and when I read the test, it all comes flowing back (it's not flawless though, some bits of information are lost on the process so I usually mess something up anyway...)

I can barely remember Metroid Fusion's story, and I've been playing that game for 13 years, lol.
My memory sucks.

Years. I don't play story heavy games that much. Biggest plot-twist in my gaming life has been GTA SA's.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

It normally depends on how deep the story was to me, like I doubt I will ever forget Persona 4's story, I wish I could so I could play it again and be surprised.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Depends on what game really.
