Indeed, I think the problem with this game is that they spent too much time trying to make the graphics in the insight videos as perfect as they possibly could. People in those videos look like real life people.

Definitely badly allocated budget.

I enjoyed it, surprisingly. I was worried the game would be too wrapped up in telling a story, but the Inuit mythology only textures the game; it never overwhelms it (if players are interested in pursuing Alaskan indigenous folklore and society they can view videos unlocked throughout the game). The platforming and puzzle sections aren't spectacular, but they're fun and engaging.

However, this game must, MUST be played with a human partner. Relying on the computer AI will significantly reduce one's enjoyment of Never Alone.

Indies are all over the place. I tend to agree with your thoughts on this one. However, Axiom Verge is one of the best games that has been released on PS4...Resogun also.
