Lets assume for a moment that the NX is just a handheld and not a fusion console; could you imagine the new handheld having an exclusive Xenoblade rather than a remake of the Wii-U's, with the next home-console obviously having a new one of its own? Or do you feel Xenoblade will be console centric overall?

Not saying it'll be a launch title for their 2017 handheld, so time don't worry too much about time issues.

No. Even if the NX handheld has a power between PS3 and WiiU, a new Xenoblade would be too big. Those games are more enjoyable on home consoles, anyway. And if you want to put an open world game on handhelds, just make an open world Pokemon.
